Incredible Hulk End Credit Scene Review

The Incredible Hulk is one of the more popular films of the last decade. The late Arnold Schwarzenegger was an interesting choice as the lead character, having been offered the chance to take on the Hulk in the comic book world of the Marvel Universe. It turned out that this was the role that would turn the aging Mr. Olympia into a much younger and muscled spectacle for the screen. It was not a bad idea at all, but the way in which the character came to life on the big screen is what makes the movie such a memorable experience. In this review, I will discuss the excellent sequence involving the Incredible Hulk, as well as how the film ends up providing a decent climax for the series.

First, a quick word about the credits. The movie opens with a rather disturbing (and lengthy) shot of the Hulk towering over some Russian troops. We then cut to the actual end credit scene, and as you can imagine, it is a doomy montage of the earlier battles that have taken place between the Hulk and Dr. Bruce Banner (ever the humanitarian). You may be wondering why I chose to end the credit scene here. It’s simply because you get a nice sense of scale when watching the sequence, as well as a nice feeling of closure. After all, this has been the culmination of many movies we have seen – whether they have successfully portrayed the Hulk or not – and this final scene confirms the final outcome.

We open the next scene and see our favorite Hulk, apparently restored to health thanks to a serum given to him by Dr. Abraham arc. He is standing beside some soldiers, and he is… well, angry. In fact, he has taken on a huge rage – much like the Hulk does when he is first introduced in the comics (specifically during the ‘Ultron blockbuster’ event). He is swinging his fists and making some sort of threat. We followed this for a few minutes, until we cut to Banner’s briefcase where he is reading some notes about the Gamma Orb.

Once he is done, we cut to Vision’s headboard where Bruce Banner is sitting. The Hulk is sitting in front of him. They are talking about the recent battle. In the background, a robot is executing orders. While Vision was paying attention to the computer terminal, the Hulk throws Vision’s briefcase into the air and slams down his fist on the terminal.

That’s when we cut to the Hulk in all his rage (he follows Vision to the laboratory). He swings his fist at Vision but is stopped by an iris-like mechanism hanging from the ceiling. Finally, the robot says: “Sorry, boss. The radiation is out of alignment.”

Overall, this is a great movie. It contains a lot of action and contains some good one-liners (which makes it very funny to watch). The special effects are dated, but they still make the movie enjoyable. Bottom line – the credits sequence is entertaining, if a little slow and sometimes slow-moving. Overall, this is a decent movie that didn’t achieve much in the way of major success…
