Incredible Hulk Islands of Adventure

incredible hulk islands of adventure

If you’re a roller coaster fan, you will love incredible hulk islands of adventure. It is one of the best coasters in Orlando. It has a good launch and forceful inversions. However, it’s not for kids.

This ride is themed around the mad scientist experiments of General Thaddeus Ross who tries to replicate his accidental creation of the Incredible Hulk. During the ride you are transformed into the Hulk through gamma radiation and experience the strength and power that comes with it. The queue is designed to look like a military research facility complete with high tech equipment and questionable experiments. The ride is located in the Marvel Super Hero Island section of Universal Orlando.

The ride is a launched roller coaster that features seven upside down manuevers and tops out at 67 mph. It is a much faster ride than the coasters at Disney World and has a g-force of 4 which is higher than that of the Space Shuttle when it plunges back to Earth.

After an initial launch from the gamma accelerator you are subjected to an incredibly fast and powerful series of twists, turns, and drops that will have your head spinning all the way through the finale. You’ll fly around a twisted and twisted layout and flip upside down seven times as you whirl and scream over Islands of Adventure.

During the ride, you will get to see the water below you and other riders. You’ll also get to see other park guests from above if you are in the front seats. Unlike many of the other rides in the Marvel Super Hero Island area, the Hulk doesn’t do any meet-and-greets. This is most likely because of the Hulk’s large size, and it would be difficult to represent the character with a basic human actor.

In 2015, the Hulk closed for a year-long refurbishment to include a new entrance plaza, a reworked indoor queue, Universal Express and Single Rider Lines, and an updated onboard soundtrack with music from Fall Out Boy’s Patrick Stump. In addition, the ride received a new swoop in the final drop and a whole new track layout.

The Incredible Hulk was built by Bolliger & Mabillard and opened on May 28, 1999, along with Islands of Adventure. The ride is the first to be themed after a Marvel Comics superhero and the first launch design roller coaster made by B&M. Guests rave about the ride and rate it as one of the best in all of the parks at Universal Orlando Resort. While it isn’t as smooth as some of the other more modern rides at the park, it still offers a great experience. Visiting the ride early in the day or in the last two hours of park closing is recommended to avoid long lines. The ride is also prone to downtime due to weather conditions. Be sure to check the Universal Orlando website for real-time updates on this attraction.
