Incredible Hulk Vs Hulk – Who is Stronger?

As we all know, the Incredible Hulk is the strongest hero in the Marvel universe. He can destroy entire cities, break planets and tear through atomic levels of matter with ease. This incredible strength is thanks to a unique ability he possesses, which allows him to generate immense amounts of energy and physical force. While this strength does come at a price, as the rage inside of him can be dangerous to himself and others around him.

While Ang Lee’s 2003 version of the Hulk was not the best movie, it was one of the first big-budget superhero movies to be made that was not driven by an agenda. This gave Lee more freedom to go all out on creating an intense sci-fi/horror psychodrama. Plus, having the success of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon already behind him, he had more clout to get his vision for the film made.

The Ang Lee Hulk movie was a bleak, brooding affair. It tried to create a more a philosophical and metaphysical take on the character as he was tortured by demons from his past and present. However, the film’s tone and pacing were not well received by film audiences who wanted a more action-packed superhero movie.

In 2008, Louis Leterrier did a much better job at making a more action-packed Hulk movie. He skipped the Hulk’s origin story that most people know and focused more on the abrasiveness of Edward Norton’s portrayal. While the 2008 movie had tons of thrilling, adrenaline-pumping action scenes, it still lacked the overall power that Lee’s Hulk movie had.

Ang Lee’s Hulk was a massive improvement over Norton’s chubby green ogre version of the Hulk. While the Rhythm and Hues effects for the blobby Hulk was impressive, it never fully captured the feeling of the character. His rage and power were not translated well on screen. The ripped and muscular Edward Norton was more convincing. He was more believable as a living creature and looked more like a real human being compared to the cartoonish Animated Hulk created by Rhythm and Hues for the 2003 movie.
