The Incredible Hulk TV Show Cast
Based on the famous comic book, the television show The Incredible Hulk TV show has become very popular. The TV show first aired on ABC in the early 1990s, but has moved beyond that as of late. For those not familiar with the show, it follows the exploits of Dr. David Banner, a world-renowned scientist who is obsessed with finding a cure for gamma radiation. Because of this, when Banner becomes extremely stressed or frustrated, he transforms into a large green monster known as the Incredible Hulk, capable of incredible strength and radiation destroying anything in his path.
Banner first became a well-known character in the Marvel comics when he was bitten by an infected rat which then turned him into the Hulk, effectively making him immortal. Banner’s interest in curing people of various diseases led him to travel around the country, seeking out individuals who were suffering from common ailments like cancer and radiation poisoning, and asking if they would like to be put on an experimental virus in order to cure themselves. Because of this, Banner often went on dangerous missions into territories not known for encountering virus infections, such as the Soviet Union. Because of this, he frequently received radiation poisoning while on these missions, which made him weak and prone to disease. Another reason he traveled the country was because of the opportunity to meet his long lost wife Betty Britten (Sigourney Weaver), who had only recently been separated due to an airplane crash.
The Incredible Hulk TV show, and it is definitely the most popular of the three films based on the character, has featured several different casts of characters throughout the years. Early on, Thomas Homer played Banner, who was an aging, curable scientist who sought to find a cure for radiation poisoning. Dan Aykroyd was Doctor Richard Sitwell, who worked with Doctor Gamma, trying to help him find a cure for Gamma.
John Aston was Bridget Moynahan, an American scientist who worked with Dr. Samuel Sterns, where they worked together trying to develop a way to cure gamma radiation. Eric Bana was Eric Selvick, a Russian who assisted Dr. Sterns and Selvick in their research efforts. Finally, Chris Evans was Russ Banner, the alter ego of Dr. Bruce Banner. Together, they worked to find a way to stop the Hulk from wreaking havoc on New York. In the TV show, each of the characters had their own distinct features, with the exception of Selvick who had the same oversized red and blue appearance as in the comics.
