The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction PS2 Game Review

Hulk is a big hero in the Marvel comics and movies, but is rarely seen in video games. The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction ps2 is the first game to really get the big green guy right.

The game starts with a tutorial level that introduces the player to the gameplay. You’ll be given a large fictional city to traverse, with buildings of all shapes and sizes that range from low-rise apartment complexes to skyscrapers. This is a good way to get you into the swing of things, as it’s easy to navigate but not so large that it feels too confined.

You’ll start out by jumping and throwing around with a basic set of moves but as you progress through the story you’ll unlock new special abilities, which can be used against enemies. Whether it’s a giant explosion or a flurry of punches, each one of these will earn you smash points that can be spent on additional moves.

If you’re the type of player that likes to smash things to pieces, this is going to be a very enjoyable experience for you. Not only does this game have a huge variety of smashing and crashing moves but you’ll also be able to pick up and throw a variety of objects, from cars to lamps to buses and even goats!

When you’re doing some crazy smashing and crashing, you’ll often find that your Hulk glows; it’s an indicator that you’ve “charged” your actions so it helps to keep you on top of how powerful your attacks are. The Hulk’s animations are excellent and it’s a very entertaining experience to watch him smash everything and anything that crosses his path.

There are a lot of different moves that the Hulk can perform, and each one is more intense than the last. He can rip cars in half and use them as fist protectors, he can surf on buses and tanks, he can run up buildings, he can jump hundreds of feet, and he can climb walls like Spider-Man.

But that’s not all there is to this game, as there are a number of missions that you can take on, which help to give the game a bit of depth. These can be either story missions or challenge missions that will see you taking on a variety of enemy types.

The enemies in this game aren’t just your normal clumsy, overpowered hordes of humans but they also include military forces with tanks, helicopters and rocket launchers. As the game goes on, these enemies will come out in greater numbers and you’ll have to use your mighty green super strength to destroy them.

The free-roaming, destructible environments are a great feature of the game, although it could benefit from some more polish. Buildings are a little too generic, textures don’t look quite as smooth as they should, and pop-up sometimes rears its ugly head. However, the sheer fun of the destruction and the sandbox-style gameplay is worth all the issues it might have.
